SSC were contacted over the summer to produce a reproduction of the River Deben situated on its banks at the Sutton Hoo Saxon site.

When 16 Air Assault Brigade was formed by merging 24 Airborne Brigade and 5th Airborne Brigade in 1999, there was some reluctance to drop the 5th Airborne’s Pegasus symbol in favour of the new striking eagle symbol. However, the change went ahead and after some fundraising the change was marked with the installation of a ‘striking eagle’ statue at the Merville Barracks in Colchester.
